I think the gap will widen even more between indie auteur games and mega-corporations pumping out 50 AI-generated, soulless, repetitive games, full of gacha mechanics or similar aggresive monetization system. Meanwhile, we’ll just go back to playing the same old games, wishing we lived through the golden age of gaming.

If thse Developer layoffs keep going at their pace, the only development for AAA games will be ... just AI slop

id like to think this will encourage more small studios to focus on auteur driven games and say closer to the community

Case in point; Deus Ex, made by Ion Storm setup by John Romero to keep Publisher interference to a minimum, allowing more creative freedom, officially 1 of the best games ever made. Profit will always undermine Art, because that's just creating a product instead & if you make something for EVERYONE, then you make something for NO0ONE

Yea i agree with AI getting better and better every day we will deffinently see more slop games with tons of p2w mechanics and we will probbly still play the same old games because they will be better in almost every way.
