Burp Suite Community makes it pretty explicit that it's not meant to be used for Black Hat hacking, but I mean that's true of most things. Still, what are your thoughts about it? It's not open-source so has there been any instance of Burp Suite gathering data on its usage or some other hidden features designed to prevent unlawful use? Do you think there's a better alternative? Personally, I think it's fine, as paranoid as I am, I doubt Burp Suite Community is phoning home. Still, I'd like to hear some alternatives.

mm bursuite has many functionalities, it is difficult to know them all, I think it is a good tool, to get a better visualization of the interaction with the page you are intercepting, another option for brute force is hydra as well

Burp is definitely a good tool to use, no matter what area of hacking you might be involved in.
